Over the course of teaching for many years, I have actively participated and implemented strategies and techniques that are data driven and designed to assist in my quest to become an efficient and effective teacher t help meet the diverse and ever-changing needs of my students. I have attended Capturing Kids’ Hearts, special education workshops, STAAR workshops, Emergent Bilingual workshops, Gifted and Talented workshops, ELAR professional developments, and staff and team meetings this year.
I teach 6th Grade English Language Arts at Florence Middle School. I started this position in the fall of 2022.
I started my teaching career in Fort Collins, Colorado. I taught ten years at a K-12 school. I moved to Texas and taught one year at Fowler Elementary School for Killeen ISD. I transferred to Haybranch Elementary School the following year in Killeen, Texas. I taught at Tippit Middle School for two years in Georgetown, Texas, and then transferred to Founders Classical Academy in Leander, Texas where I taught for 4 years. I received my Special Education License and taught three years at Wolf Ranch Elementary Education as a Life Skills Teacher in Georgetown, Texas before joining Florence Middle School.
I live in Georgetown, Texas with Mr. Kiely and my 15 year old son, Nathan. Nathan goes to school at Georgetown High School in Georgetown, Texas. I have one very spoiled dog, Musket, who brings our family a ton of joy.
I love to fish and read when I am not teaching.
