Assistance League Georgetown Area

Assistance League of Georgetown Area  Assistance League of Georgetown Area is a philanthropic, nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to helping those in need within our community and has been very generous to our students in Florence Elementary.

Operation School Bell®

Operation School Bell is the signature national program of Assistance League.  Assistance League of Georgetown Area adopted the Operation School Bell program in  July  2001.  That first year clothing was provided for 673 schoolchildren.  Since then the numbers have increased and to date we have provided for 6,740 students.

Every year as school begins we conduct Operation School Bell with our partner, Walmart Superstore in Georgetown.  Parents and students in grades PreK-8th come to Walmart to shop and with the help of Assistance League volunteers pick out new clothing and shoes.

Operation School Bell is funded by proceeds from our Thrift Store, Ring the Bell, an annual mail solicitation; grants from businesses and foundations, and other fundraisers.

If you are interested in being included in this program, please reach out to your campus counselor for more information!
