FLORENCE ISD BOARD APPROVES THE HIRE OF THE NEW FLORENCE ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL

The Florence Board of Trustees unanimously approved the hire of Ms. Ercilia Paredes as principal for Florence Elementary School at Monday night’s Board of Trustees meeting.

A native Texan, Ms. Paredes grew up in the Austin school system and graduated from (Southwest) Texas State University, later pursuing her M.B.A. at St. Edwards University. She started her career 19 years ago in education as a Spanish bilingual elementary teacher, later becoming a districtwide elementary program supervisor, assistant principal, and lead campus administrator of a highly successful Title 1 elementary school.

Under Ms. Paredes’ leadership, her campus, Graham Elementary in Austin, TX, achieved high academic performance, earning exemplary accountability ratings and every possible academic distinction from the Texas Education Agency. Additionally, her school received consecutive annual Gold Ribbon Award recognitions from the Houston-based organization Children at Risk.

Ms. Paredes remains dedicated to fostering a supportive and high-achieving educational

environment, committed to the belief that every child can succeed with the right guidance and

resources. She looks forward to continuing to inspire excellence in education and making a

positive impact on her community.

“I am excited to have Ms. Paredes join the Florence ISD team as the principal of Florence Elementary School. I believe her expertise and her dedicated level of performance and professionalism in her past roles will prove to be the perfect fit for the goals of Florence Elementary and FISD.” – Rick Kirkpatrick, Superintendent.
